The Fox & the Crow
The Fox & the Crow
Illustrations depicting Aesop's fables during the Victorian era were popular for their moral lessons. This particular tale is of The Fox and the Crow --
A cunning fox sees a crow with a piece of cheese and decides to trick the bird into dropping it. The fox flatters the crow's voice, causing the crow to caw in pride and drop the cheese, which the fox then grabs and eats. The moral of the story warns against vanity and to be cautious of flatterers.
